Paper Lantern VFX: Welcome
EFFECT OVERVIEW
This effect was created using Unity URP with Shader Graph and a C# script.
LANTERNS
The paper lanterns are constructed out of four planes with a flickering lantern shader and a custom lantern frame model made in Blender. The shader uses a noise sine wave and a sawtooth wave to randomly flicker the light texture. The lanterns movement is controlled by a C# script that randomly changes the lantern's acceleration.
WATER
The water is the same water shader I outlined here with a reflection probe to reflect all of the floating lanterns.
